Toni is thrilled to be joining Cohort 9 of the San Diego Teacher Residency! Formally in marketing, she is an aspiring teacher who grew up in Chula Vista after spending the first four years of her life in Japan.
Toni is a brother of the national service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and spent two years serving as an AmeriCorps Member with educational nonprofit City Year Denver. It is through reflecting on her classroom experiences gained with City Year that she realized her desire to change careers and pursue teaching.
Presently, Toni serves as the National Historian and Social Media Director for the nonprofit Josepha’s Kapamilya for Outreach and Advancement (J-KOA), sings with the Voices of Mater Dei, and is a Polynesian dancer with Na Pua ‘Ilima. A traveler, gamer, and book dragon, Toni is also a cozy/chaos variety streamer on Twitch and a content creator across multiple platforms.
